It took 12 innings for the Fighting Irish to beat #5 Florida State -- 2 - 0 on this two run homer by Ryan Cole!
How Long Before We See This in College FB?
Major League Baseball just approved the selling of patches on their uniforms for the 2023 season. They join the NHL, NBA and the longtime player in this arena -- NASCAR. The only major hold-out is the NFL.
MLB teams will be allowed to place a corporate partner's logo on their team's helmets this season.

Major "East-West" Road to Notre Dame Closed
If you're driving to, from and around the University of Notre Dame -- please make note of the following for your travel plans...
Douglas Road will be closed from Twyckenham to Ironwood beginning April 14th -- it was just announced today (April 1st).
Please know this -- you can still access Notre Dame's Warren Golf Course during this time -- just access the entrance straight north of Twyckenham for the Men's & Women's Golf Indoor Training Center and follow the signs to the parking lot / clubhouse.
This road will definitely be closed for the Garth Brooks concert and possibly the Billy Joel concert...
You've been warned!
OT: My "Other" Favorite College Team -- NIT!
My daughter Kara and son-in-law Conor are proud graduates of St. Bonaventure University -- and their BONNIES are playing tonight at Madison Square Garden vs. Xavier in the N.I.T. Semifinals!
That's our granddaughters; Clare and Kinley (L to R) already dressed to cheer on their "2nd favorite" college team!
The game will be televised on ESPN beginning at 7 PM ET!

Goal "That Wasn't" -- How Did That Happen?
Folks, if you were watching the Notre Dame vs. North Dakota NCAA Hockey Tournament game tonight -- you saw what looked like the game winning goal with 0.5 seconds left on the clock.
The photo above shows the game clock with time left when goal was scored!
The TV clock showed that -- as did the "green light" (video below) that went off showing the goal was scored in regulation time...
Here was Notre Dame head coach Jeff Jackson talking about the referee's call:
“I just based it on what was on the scoreboard and they’re telling me there’s two different clocks? We’re playing to the scoreboard, not to a clock that’s not visible to anybody,” Jackson explained. “When the green light went on I assumed there was still time on the clock. At least that’s the way it is in the NHL.”
Well, the referees called it a NO GOAL -- forcing OT, which Notre Dame fortunately prevailed.
But, what if they had not?
It will be interesting to see if the NCAA releases a statement later tonight or tomorrow on why they disallowed the goal...

As far as all-time NCAA records:
- Notre Dame's 35 point half time lead was the largest in women's NCAA history for a lower seed against a higher seed.
- First team in NCAA Tournament history (Men or Women) to beat a higher seeded team by 40+ points

Thank You Notre Dame Men's Basketball...
The Fighting Irish gave us FIVE GREAT DAYS -- it's a shame it had to end...
Now, we wait to see how many of our seniors decide to come back for their COVID YEAR -- all will have that option if Coach Brey extends it to them.
Thank you to the SENSATIONAL SEVEN -- you gave us all you had these last 3 games. It was fun to watch and if you come back, I think you've all learned we can win playing a little more to the basket on offense and we can play some defense!
Just need to hit the weights a little harder, work on driving to the basket, hanging on to the ball and finishing. And, wouldn't it be nice if we added a few more players to the rotation next season.
Oh, would we all have loved seeing you guys take on Duke...
