The former Notre Dame football player will be playing in his first Super Bowl this Sunday. It's nice to see the L.A. Rams' center getting some media attention:
It was 3 degrees Farenheit after Mass this morning -- here at Notre Dame. Word on the street is we'll feel the full effect of what they call a "polar vortex" this Wednesday with wind-chills close to -40 below zero...
Muffet's #1 ranked Fighting Irish travel to Knoxville tonight to take on the Volunteers. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7 PM ET and will be televised on ESPN.
Very happy for the Los Angeles Rams' center John Sullivan -- he'll be the sole Notre Dame alum playing in Super Bowl LIII. Got to love the ND tattoo on his shoulder in the photo above!
44 former Notre Dame football players have won a Super Bowl ring -- here's hoping John is #45!
Our youngest son Brady did something like this during his freshman year on the swim team at Detroit Catholic Central High School. It was the Detroit Catholic League Championship -- and a senior on the team had swum a relay leg for Catholic Central in the prelim heat -- only to see Brady take his spot on the relay team in the Championship final.
This senior had been dealing with the failing health of his Dad -- who was dying from cancer -- all season long.
Well Brady's relay team won the 400 Free Relay in the Catholic Championship Final -- his first high school "gold medal" -- I remember when we got home I asked "where's your medal?"
He replied -- "I gave it to ____ (this was the senior, whom he swam for in the Final) -- he deserved to have this, I know he wanted to give it to his Dad. I'll have more opportunities in the future..."
Our good friend Vic Lombardi '91 -- was just named Colorado's Sportscaster of the Year!
Vic, has been kind enough to return "home" to Notre Dame these past two years to join our Notre Dame Day broadcast team -- and he zipped down to Dallas last month to co-host our Cotton Bowl Party.
That's Vic in action on Notre Dame Day in the video above...
He's very good at what he does (he has won 30 Emmys) -- and he's fun to work with.
I'll be rooting for the one-time college roommate of my son Jimmy '08 -- they were roommates on paper before Jimmy showed up for his first day in Dillon Hall and he was moved to another room, leaving Sullivan and Trevor Laws in a room alone... The interview above took place before the season started.
John Sullivan, in his eleventh year in the NFL, is the starting center for the Los Angeles Rams -- and one of two Notre Dame alums left in the NFL Playoffs with a chance to play in the Super Bowl.
Manti Te'o -- is on the Saints' roster -- though he was a healthy scratch for their NFL Playoff game last week...
Thus, I'm all in for Sullivan and the Rams -- here's some recent stories about John;

This Friday -- the University of Notre Dame will have 800+ students along with 75+ faculty, staff and grad students, and president Rev. John Jenkins, C.S.C. -- participating in the 2019 MARCH FOR LIFE in Washington D.C.
No other college or university sends a contingent this large every year...
The all-time leading rusher in Notre Dame history -- has agreed to become the head football coach at Charleston Southern. His introductory press conference will be this Wednesday at 10 AM ET.
It will fun to watch who replaces Autry on the Notre Dame Football staff.
Here's what's being said about tonight's contest between the two top ranked teams in the country -- from the media covering the Louisville Cardinals... Louisville's coach is reminding everyone how they blew us out last year and won the ACC Tournament -- yet ND went on to win the national title -- in an attempt to damper the significance of tonight's game.
The former member of Celtic Woman -- has adopted the University of Notre Dame as her school. Chloe flew in from Dublin (Ireland) the day before the Cotton Bowl to perform at a couple university events...
Just a couple of hours before game time, Chloe jumped up on stage at Texas Live, the sports bar adjacent to AT&T Stadium and got the ND fans in the house "fired up" with her a cappella rendition of HERE COME THE IRISH!
I love how the crowd joined in...
Chloe will be back on campus during Notre Dame Day 2019 -- April 28th and 29th -- and will perform a few times over the weekend.
Here's a video of Chloe performing Here Come The Irish at last year's Notre Dame Day celebration:
