Incoming Domer Boley Wins Another Honor!


Erin Boley -- an incoming member of Notre Dame's Class of 2020 -- is cleaning up the national honors as of late.  A couple of weeks ago she was named the Gatorade Girls' National Player of the Year.

Last night in Brooklyn, NY -- Boley was named the MVP of the Jordan Brand Classic!

Notre Dame alums Ryan Harris and David Bruton Jr., led the Colorado Symphony Orchestra in the playing of the greatest fight song in all the land!

The two former Super Bowl Champion Denver Broncos -- are back HOME at Notre Dame this weekend to serve as Honorary Captains for the Blue Gold Game.

My Favorite "THE SHIRT" Design of All-Time!


This is the one -- it was worn during the 2007 Notre Dame football season.  I will admit I have selfish reasons for picking this my all-time favorite...

Our son Jimmy Small '08 -- an Irish Guard at the time -- was worked into the design of the ND Monogram on the back of THE SHIRT.  You'll see his face in the lower left hand corner of the Monogram -- click on the images above to zoom in.
  • That year's THE SHIRT sales:  135,000
  • The football team record -- not so good:  3 - 9

This year's version of THE SHIRT -- will be unveiled today between 5:30 PM ET and 6:00 PM ET -- in front of the Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore.  Former ND great Brady Quinn will unveil the shirt...

My guess on the color this year -- ND BLUE.

Notre Dame alum Erock Rock is seen here in this photo taken this morning inside Michigan Stadium -- as he finished a 5k race in Ann Arbor that ended at the 50-yard line.

Knowing Erock -- he probably reminded a few Wolverine fans that it's been 945 days since Michigan last scored against Notre Dame in football.

Domer McKenna Leaving McDonald's Board


Andy McKenna '51 -- the long-time Chairman of McDonald's Corporation and Notre Dame alum -- has decided to step down from his position at next month's shareholder's meeting.

Thought you'd enjoy this interview of Andy back in 2012 -- on the role of a corporation's Board of Directors.  McKenna is also Chairman-Emeritus of Notre Dame's Board of Trustees.

Notre Dame Beats #1 North Carolina Last Night


Ryan Sachire's Fighting Irish rolled over the top ranked North Carolina Tar Heels 5 - 2  on SENIOR NIGHT.  What a way to end your college tennis career for Notre Dame's five seniors (pictured above).

It's the first time Notre Dame's Men's Tennis has beaten a #1 ranked team since USC back in 1992.

Notre Dame vs. Texas Moved to Sunday Night


Notre Dame's first visit to Austin, TX -- since 1996  -- is a big deal to the TV networks...

Today it was announced that the game would be moved from Saturday to Sunday night (September 4, 2016) of Labor Day Weekend.  The time and TV network will be announced in a few weeks.

Knute Rockne's Legacy Lives On -- 85 Years...


One of my colleagues at Notre Dame -- Jeff Arnold -- alerted me this morning to the story linked below.  Coach Rockne died in a plane crash 85 years ago -- March 31, 1931.

This is not how the Arizona Diamondback's All Star outfielder wanted to start the 2016 season.  The former Notre Dame slugger's injury will require surgery and keep him out of the lineup for some time.

#1 Notre Dame Beat #7 Syracuse 17 - 7 Today



Kevin Corrigan's top ranked Fighting Irish -- dominated Syracuse today 17 - 7 -- beating the Orange on their home turf.  It was Syracuse's first loss at home in 13 games and Notre Dame's first win ever in the Carrier Dome.

Syracuse was celebrating their 100th year of Lacrosse today -- drawing a crowd of more than 15,000 to the game...

Jerian knocked in 14 points and dished out 4 assists in the New York Knicks 105 - 91 win over the cross-bridge Brooklyn Nets.
