My alma mater, Ferris State University (FSU) in Big Rapids, MI -- completed a perfect 11 - 0 season yesterday with a thrilling come from behind victory over Walsh University 46 - 42...

Now, I'm sure many of you have never heard of Ferris State -- I have to admit I never heard of Walsh University until this morning...

The #4 ranked Bulldogs -- now await their seeding in the upcoming NCAA Division II National Championship Playoff.  I'm hoping I can convince a few Notre Dame fans to jump on the "FSU" band wagon as we make our National Championship run!

A Night of "BIG NUMBERS" at Purcell Pavilion

A Notre Dame basketball "doubleheader" took place tonight at Purcell Pavilion as Muffet's #3 Irish defeated UMASS-Lowell 105 - 51 and Mike Brey's Irish beat Binghamton 82 - 39.

The largest margin of victory in a basketball doubleheader in Notre Dame history -- 97 points!

Here's the "BIG NUMBERS" from the night:

• Brianna Turner scored 22 points in the first half, 29 in total -- setting a freshman single game scoring record in her first college start!
• Pat Connaughton scored his 1,000th career point, becoming the 56th player in the 110 year history of ND Men's Basketball to reach that milestone
• And, Mike Brey won his 400th career game in his 19 years as a head coach -- he's now 400 - 211 in his career.

Through 9 games this season -- Notre Dame has given up 78 points on turnovers this season -- the 16th most among the 128 teams in the FBS.

The most among teams with a winning record in college football.

Notre Dame has given up 228 points this season -- which means 34% of all points the Irish have given up have been the result of a TURNOVER...

The Fighting Irish practiced in a snow storm Thursday afternoon -- getting ready for Saturday's game with Northwestern.

South Bend received a record 12.3" of snow yesterday.  The photos above were taken of their practice at Notre Dame Stadium late yesterday.

ESPN's Mike & MIKE Radio Show will be broadcasting LIVE from NOTRE DAME tomorrow -- from 6 AM ET to 10 AM ET.  You can watch it live on ESPN2.

The two are bringing their show to town to preview the "battle of the alma maters" on Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium.  Mike Greenberg is a Northwestern grad --- and we all know Mike Golic is a Domer...  Should be great fun!
