Tim Brown Leads Domers at ACC in Lake Tahoe
Former Notre Dame All-American, Heisman Trophy winner and NFL Hall of Famer Tim Brown finished in a tie for 23rd place with 45 points in the modified Stabelford scoring format at the American Century Championship on the shores of beautiful Lake Tahoe.
He was the highest finisher among the former Fighting Irish stars in the tournament:
- Tim Brown: 45 points -- 78, 78, 75
- Joe Theismann: 32 points -- 82, 75, 82
- Jerome Bettis: 13 points -- 84, 84, 84
- Golden Tate: 5 points -- 85, 89, 82

Domers Playing Golf on NBC This Weekend!
The American Century Championship is being held this week in Lake Tahoe at Edgewood Tahoe South and a number of former Notre Dame stars are playing!
You can catch Sunday's final round on NBC!

This Was My Favorite Score on the Old Board!
Growing up in the great state of Michigan -- this is the score I want to remember on the old north scoreboard at Notre Dame Stadium!
It was taken down this week -- it's being replaced by the large video wall on the south end of Notre Dame Stadium and two long "ribbon" boards...
This was -- in my estimation -- the finest moment in that scoreboard's history!

Demetrius Jackson Scores 14 in 4th Quarter
The former Fighting Irish hoops star had a big 4th quarter last night for the Boston Celtics in their NBA Summer League 88 - 83 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Domer Craig Counsell has his Milwaukee Brewers in first place at the All-Star break -- nine games over .500 -- with a 5.5 game lead over the Cubs and Cardinals!

Bob Elliott -- Heaven's Team Has A Good One!
Coach Elliott lived in an apartment just down the block from our home -- we would cross paths every now and then when he would take his dog for a walk...
He was always smiling and willing to talk Notre Dame football with me -- what a very nice man. A man you would love to have coach your kids.
Here's what a few of his Notre Dame players had to say about Coach Elliott after learning about his passing last night.
A "ND Dad" is on College Football HOF Ballot!
His name is Terrell Buckley -- college and NFL football fans will remember his exploits:
- Received the Jim Thorpe Award & Jack Tatum Trophy in 1991 as the top Defensive Back in college football
- Florida State Seminoles' all-time career interception leader with 21
- #5 overall pick by the Green Bay Packers in the 1992 NFL Draft
- Played 14 years in the NFL
- Won a Super Bowl ring with the New England Patriots
Terrell has been at Notre Dame the last few days spending time with his daughter -- a rising sophomore in the College of Engineering. He's currently the defensive backs coach at Mississippi State University...
I had the good fortune, along with my ND colleague Drew Buscareno (the two are pictured above) to play golf with Terrell Saturday afternoon at Notre Dame's Warren Golf Course.
Terrell's a proud Dad -- and a member of the Notre Dame Family! I'll be rooting for him to get inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame -- see story below:

Does Pat Connaughton Return to Baseball?
The Portland Trail Blazers have until July 13th to extend Pat Connaughton a contract for $1.47 million for the upcoming season.
Most believe they will not...
If they don't, the Baltimore Orioles will be looking to get Pat back into a baseball uniform the next day!

Happy Birthday #241 America !!!
Our daughter Kara and son-in-law Conor rescued Bailey (dog in photo above) a few years ago from an animal shelter in Florida -- what a joy she has brought those two.
