I wonder if Coach Kelly will send the video clip of this "penalty" called on Notre Dame's Max Redfield (for his block on Michigan's Devin Gardner -- during the run back) to the Big Ten Conference's Head of Officials -- which negated Elijah Shumate's end of game interception TD return...

What a horrible call!

Saying Good-Bye Turned Out Easy To Do!


31 - 0 -- was a game of firsts and a game of last...

The firsts -- this was the first shutout of Michigan in the games played between these two schools dating all the way back to 1887.  It was also the largest margin of victory for Notre Dame in this series.

And yes, it will be the LAST time these two schools will meet on the football field in the foreseeable future...

A game where Notre Dame was without FOUR STARTERS, three on defense -- turned out to be just perfect!

And to add insult to injury -- the shutout was the FIRST time a Michigan team has been shutout since 1984 -- a FBS record 365 straight games...

A great way to send Michigan home to Ann Arbor!

Notre Dame to Receive Captial One Cup Tonight


In front of a national TV audience in PRIME TIME -- the University of Notre Dame's Jack Swarbrick will be presented the CAPITAL ONE CUP and a check for $200,000.

 Notre Dame dominated in men's athletics last season -- becoming the first Atlantic Coast Conference school to ever finish first in the CAPITAL ONE CUP standings!

Here were the final standings:
  1. NOTRE DAME
  2. Oregon
  3. Florida
  4. Virginia
  5. Florida State

News broke late this morning that Ohio State and Notre Dame have agreed to a "home & home" series in 2022 and 2023.  Just goes to show you -- Notre Dame will continue to schedule big-time opponents.

Notre Dame Moves Up a Spot to #16 in AP Poll


The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame are ranked #16 this week in the AP Top 25 Poll -- a move up of one spot from the AP's Preseason ranking.  If we continue this pace -- we'll be TOP FIVE come the end of November and PLAYOFF BOUND!

Michigan, Notre Dame's opponent this week, remains un-ranked after beating Appalachian State this past Saturday.

OT: Baylor's New Stadium -- Brick Wall Paper


The brand new Baylor football stadium hung a "wall paper" of bricks in its new $266 million home.

I guess a "quarter of a billion" can't buy you real bricks these days...

The bottom photo shows the white concrete Stadium walls before they hung the wall covering.

I'm guessing they didn't have time to get the brick work done for the opening game...

It is still a beautiful stadium.

South Bend Tribune's Hansen Talks "Poultry"


May of 2013, Michigan head football coach Brady Hoke made headlines when he said Notre Dame was "chickening out" of the football series between the two schools...

The school in Ann Arbor did beat us -- a few months later -- along their way to a 7 - 6 season.

The South Bend Tribune's Eric Hansen participated in an interview of Coach Brian Kelly yesterday -- where he brought up the choice of music that played inside Michigan Stadium at the end of last year's game...
