The annual American Century Celebrity Golf Classic -- otherwise known as the "only time you'll see Charles Barkley swing a golf club in public" -- was held this weekend on the shores of Lake Tahoe.
Former Notre Dame All-American QB Joe Theismann
(photo above) was the top point scorer in this modified Stableford scoring golf event -- finishing in 30th place. Here's the final scoring among the four former Notre Dame football stars in Tahoe:
- Joe Theismann: 27 pts -- 30th place
- Tim Brown: 13 pts -- 44th place
- Jerome Bettis: 8 pts -- 47th place
- Golden Tate: 0 pts -- 53rd place
Here's how the "modified Stableford scoring" system works -- players earn points based on their score each hole. Points are awarded in this manner:
- Eagle: 6 points
- Birdie: 3 points
- Par: 1 point
- Bogey: 0 points
- Double-Bogey: -2 points
