- Then, they need to beat #7 Georgia soundly in the SEC Championship game
#2: Miami
- Needs to beat Pittsburgh
- Needs to beat #3 Clemson soundly in the ACC Championship game
#3: Clemson
- Needs to lose to #24 South Carolina
- Needs to lose to #2 Miami in the ACC Championship game
#4: Oklahoma
- Needs to lose to West Virginia
- Or, needs to lose #12 TCU in Big 12 Championship game
#5: Wisconsin
- Needs to lose to Minnesota
- Or, needs to lose to #9 Ohio State in Big Ten Championship game
#6: Auburn
- Needs to lose to #1 Alabama
#7: Georgia
- Needs to lose to Georgia Tech
- Or, needs to lose to #1 Alabama -- soundly in SEC Championship game
#8: NOTRE DAME
- Needs to beat #21 Stanford soundly
#9: Ohio State
- Needs to lose to Michigan
- Needs to beat #5 Wisconsin in Big Ten Championship game
