OT: #1 Ferris State vs. #2 Grand Valley State

 

It's the "game of the year" in NCAA Division II Football and it takes place this Saturday in Big Rapids, MI at 1 PM ET.

I have to admit, I was hoping the folks at College GameDay might decide to break from tradition and take their show to a Division II campus...

Well, this Saturday the #1 ranked Ferris State Bulldogs -- the defending national champs and their 43 game regular season winning streak -- take on the #2 ranked Grand Valley State Lakers!

This game -- two schools less than an hour away from each other by car -- has turned into one of the top rivalries in the country.  Should be fun to watch!

I had the honor of sitting next to David & Jess Runyan -- Notre Dame fans from the Michiana area -- on the flight Thursday from Grand Rapids, MI to Las Vegas...

They were part of a group of 18 members of the Notre Dame Nation -- all gathering in Las Vegas for our game vs. BYU.  They rented a suite at the Raiders' Allegiant Stadium and they even designed their own t-shirt for the trip (bottom image).  Jess even painted her finger nails for the celebration...
