Palmer Jackson -- will be rolling into town next week as a member of Notre Dame's Class of 2023...
But, until that happens -- he's on a roll at the U.S. Amateur!
Palmer (yes, he's named after Arnold Palmer) won his two matches today to advance to the Round of 8 -- meaning there's only 8 players left out of the thousands who tried to qualify for amateur golf's greatest event.
This afternoon, Palmer upset Stanford's Isaiah Salinda -- the recent grad was an All-American for the Cardinal golf team. Salinda, one of the favorites this year -- advanced to the semi-finals of last year's U.S. Amateur at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
Palmer advances to play Vanderbilt's John Augenstein -- who has been ranked as high as #20 in the world amateur rankings (he's currently ranked #38)...
You can watch the U.S. Amateur on FS1 tomorrow -- beginning at 4 PM ET.
