A Family Business Celebrating 100 Years!


Ruttura and Sons -- a concrete business located on Long Island, NY -- celebrated their 100th year in business this weekend.  CONGRATULATIONS!

Four generations of Ruttura's have worked in the family business -- this Notre Dame family is very special to me.

That's Tommy Ruturra (a ND Dad) reppin' NOTRE DAME as he spoke to the gathered crowd at their celebration.  I'm not surprised with what he chose to wear...

FYI:  That's my awesome neighbor Rocky Geans directly over Tommy's shoulder -- they have been best friends for many years.

Golden Tate is "Top Domer" at Golf Tournament


Four former Notre Dame football stars and Head Coach Brian Kelly -- played this week in the American Century Championship at Lake Tahoe.

The tournament is scored by a modified Stableford format -- giving points for eagles, birdies and pars...

Here's the final standings amongst the Notre Dame crowd:
  1. Golden Tate -- 29 points, tied for 37th
  2. Jerome Bettis -- 22 points, tied for 42nd 
  3. Joe Theismann -- 20 points, tied for 45th
  4. Tim Brown -- 11 points, tied for 48th
  5. Brian Kelly -- 7 points, 52nd 

Former Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo won the tournament - but passed on the $125,000 first place check.  He's heading out tomorrow to qualify for the US Amateur.
Side note:  Ohio State Head Coach Urban Meyer (a former ND Assistant Coach) ended up with 4 points and finished tied for 55th.

Domer Becca Huffer Shoots 65 -- Now in Sixth!


Former Notre Dame women's golf star Becca Huffer shot a 65 yesterday at the Donald Ross Course at the French Lick Resort to move up to a tie for 6th place going into today's FINAL ROUND.

The 65 tied the lowest round of the tournament.  Becca is playing some of the best golf of her career, coming off of a 2nd place finish in the last Symetra Tour event.
