Theismann Top Domer at Celebrity Golf Tourney

The annual American Century Celebrity Golf Classic -- otherwise known as the "only time you'll see Charles Barkley swing a golf club in public" -- was held this weekend on the shores of Lake Tahoe.

Former Notre Dame All-American QB Joe Theismann (photo above) was the top point scorer in this modified Stableford scoring golf event -- finishing in 30th place.  Here's the final scoring among the four former Notre Dame football stars in Tahoe:
  1. Joe Theismann:  27 pts -- 30th place
  2. Tim Brown:  13 pts -- 44th place
  3. Jerome Bettis:  8 pts -- 47th place
  4. Golden Tate:  0 pts -- 53rd place

Here's how the "modified Stableford scoring" system works -- players earn points based on their score each hole.  Points are awarded in this manner:
  • Eagle:  6 points
  • Birdie:  3 points
  • Par:  1 point
  • Bogey:  0 points
  • Double-Bogey:  -2 points

Plenty of Scheduling "Noise" for Notre Dame

Word broke in the last 24 hours that Notre Dame and Michigan would renew their rivalry as early as 2018.  It's being reported that Michigan would "buy-out" their contract with Arkansas to make this happen.

Still awaiting confirmation from Notre Dame that this is a done deal.

Also, the folks at Texas Christian University think they may also have a football game scheduled with the Fighting Irish in the very near future...
