University of Notre Dame sophomore linebacker, Manti Teo (Laie, HI) has been named a SEMI-FINALIST for the 16th Annual Chuck Bednarik Award. The Maxwell Football Club made the announcement yesterday. Teo, is the only Sophomore among the 16 semi-finalists for the award given to the College Defensive Player of the Year. Last year's Bednarik Award winner was Nebraska' Ndamukong Suh -- the 2nd overall pick of the Detroit Lions. The Finalists for the award will be announced on November 22nd -- with the winner being honored on December 9th at the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show.
